LOST Finale. My Theory.

So the big, penultimate LOST finale aired the other night and questions are abound. We finally met Jacob, realize he does not seem to age much like Richard Alpert, and that there is another man originally on the island, dressed in dark cloth who states that he wants to kill Jacob and will find a "loophole." Dark and light have been an ongoing theme in the series but it is clear to me from the conversation between the two men in the first 10 minutes of the finale that both of these men were god like or they were somehow able to see the future and had somehow seen the end of man. One man: Jacob, believes humans can change, that everything until the end is progress. The other, nameless man in black cloth disagrees. (SPOILER!!!) The man in the dark cloth finds his "loophole" by somehow possessing the body of the dead John Locke. Jacob is dead at the hands of Benjamin Linus, who when asked of his leader, "What about me?" is smacked back with a cold " What ABOUT you?"

So the island is clearly a tool and possibly a battleground between good and evil, god and satan, or just men who found it and tried to exploit its powers. One thing is for sure, it is going to be a long haul until next season.
